Lets be honest, a Lotus of that era probably needed cosmetic restoration when it left the factory.

The Esprit is my favorite Lotus. Such a wonderful old wedge of a sports car.

Well, you’re gonna have to hope that Patrick buy the article for that haha :)
Otherwise, photodump, quick driving video and that would pretty much be it :)

The car is sold already, leaving on sunday which is why I had to hurry a little to do the article/review/photoshoot...

What do these go for in the Land of the Rising Sun if you don’t mind me asking? And would you be interested in a little project concerning helping me out importing a Pao?

This one sold for around 3 million yen, which is about 25k€. Fairly decent. Ultra low mileage (18500 miles) but the car has been stored for a long time outside, so it requires a bit of work (no rust but sun and leather don’t mix well).
As for finding you Nissan Pao, I can do that if you want yes... But you might be better off working with an exporter directly ( http://pacificcoastjdm.com/ for exemple, I talked to the owner a few times and he seems like a really great guy with reasonnable prices) as I can’t have direct access to auctions here (I have to go through a friend), but they can. If you need a broker in the UK (cheaper to ship to the UK then drive back home after) I can help also.

Merci! I’ll see if I can do something with that. Problem is only that it is an auction: How will I know the exact state (well, exact, you catch my drift) the car is in?

Not much you can when this far... That’s also why auction are so freaking cheap. A very condition Pao with a manual transmission will sell for less than 2000$. Add about 2500/3000$ extra of exporter fees and shipping by Ro-ro to the UK and you end up with a Pao for less than 5000$. It’s really not that bad even if it ends up having a few problems.

Quite right about that’s, it’s Micra based anyway so shouldn’t be a real issue. Going for the Automatic, it’s for the mrs. and RHD will have a huge impact already ;-)
Thanks!

Oh then automatics are much cheaper... 1000$ or less for good ones :)
